• Demonstrable ability to proactively identify and implement intelligent solutions to unique underwriting situations
• Appropriate levels of subject matter expertise in relation to pricing techniques, alternative risk transfer and the development of reserves by individual case and by book of business
• Working knowledge of the key accounts in the Branch
• Understanding the underwriting appetites of the other departments and associated relationships with interdepartmental accounts
• Judgement, experience, and confidence to make appropriate recommendations for tailoring coverage and manuscripting policies
• Familiarity with the products / services of key competitors
• Demonstrable capacity and efficacy in utilising negotiation strategies to achieve constructive business outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to work well with people and influence decisions
